Born May 7, 1934, in Detroit, she was the daughter of the late Richard A. and Marian D. Charlebois, and the sister of Marjorie Thieda of Warren, Mich., and Marilyn Trinkle of Burleson, Texas.
She graduated from Wayne University/St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Detroit in 1955 and married Albert Kendle Jr. in 1957. Throughout their 48 years of marriage, Beverly and Albert were stationed with the U.S. Air Force in various parts of the country, and she practiced nursing in several specialty areas in various hospitals and care centers.
Beverly retired from Hagerstown's Western Maryland Hospital Center in 1988 and continued part-time nursing care with the mentally disabled until 1993. Since 1993, she had volunteered in the community in various capacities, including the canteen at the Western Maryland Center, tutoring children in the C-SAFE neighborhood summer program, visitation as a member of the Legion of Mary, hourly coordinator for Hagerstown's Adoration Chapel and other ministries of St. Mary's and St. Ann's Catholic Church.
