Ward-Simons


Danielle Nicole Ward and Kyle Svend Simons of Hollywood, Md., announce their engagement.

Ms. Ward is the daughter of Leon Ward of Hancock and Jeffrey and Cecilia Renner of Warfordsburg, Pa. She is a 1996 graduate of Southern Fulton High School, received a degree in mortuary science from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and is pursuing a nursing degree. She is employed part-time as a funeral director with Brinsfield Funeral Home in Leon-ardtown, Md.

Mr. Simons is the son of A.J. and Dottie Simons of Bowie, Md. He is a 1992 graduate of Archbishop Spalding High School, received a degree in history and political science from Cabrini College and also received a degree in mortuary science from Northampton School of Mortuary Science. He is a funeral director with Brinsfield Funeral Home in Leonardtown.

A May 26, 2007, wedding is planned.

Gruber-Dohn


Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gruber of Williamsport announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Lynne Gruber, to Robert Liam Dohn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Dohn of Bronxville, N.Y.

Miss Gruber is a 1994 graduate of St. Maria Goretti High School and graduated with honors from Elon University in 1998 with a bachelor of arts in political science. She is a partner and strategic director for the Republic Inc., an advertising firm in Durham, N.C.

Mr. Dohn is a 1995 graduate of the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Conn., received a bachelor of science in commerce from University of Virginia in 1999 and plans to pursue a master's degree at the London Business School. He served as lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2000 to 2003. He is employed as a financial analyst with General Electric.

An August 2006 wedding is planned.

Spear-Dibbern


Katherine Lynn Spear and Robert Jared Dibbern announce their engagement.

Miss Spear is the daughter of Wayne and Jane Spear of Hagerstown. She is a 2002 graduate of Middletown High School in Middletown, Md., and received a degree in art and art history from St. Mary's College of Maryland this year. She is employed with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

Mr. Dibbern is the son of Dennis and Marsha Dibbern of Charles Town, W.Va. He is a 2002 graduate of Jefferson High School and graduated from the United States Naval Academy this year. He is an ensign in the U.S. Navy and is scheduled to be stationed at Pensacola Naval Air Station for flight training.

They plan to be married in Charles Town.

Wink-Fling


Kelly Wink and Rick Fling Jr. announce their engagement.

Ms. Wink is the daughter of Marilyn Krey of Wauwatosa, Wis., and David Wink of New Berlin, Wis. She received a master of science degree from University of Arizona in 2003. She is employed as a meteorologist at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Aberdeen, Md.

Mr. Fling is the son of Rick and Tina Fling of Hancock and Kathy Mellott of Traverse City, Mich. He is a 1990 graduate of Hancock High School and a 1995 graduate of Winthrop University. He is employed with Jacobs Engineering in Aberdeen.

A January 2007 wedding is planned.

Spoonire-Ricker


Ron and Kathy Spoonire of Hagerstown announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Spoonire, to James Ricker, son of Phil and Nona Ricker of College Park, Md.

Ms. Spoonire is a 1999 graduate of Williamsport High School, a 2003 graduate of Salisbury University and graduated from University of Maryland School of Nursing this year. She is employed as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department of Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Mr. Ricker is a 1996 graduate of St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Laurel, Md. He is self-employed.

A Sept. 23, 2006, wedding is planned.

Sandeen-Grubbs


Mary Ann Sandeen and James Vernon Grubbs announce their engagement.

Miss Sandeen is the daughter of Peter and Pil Sandeen of Hagerstown. She is a 1980 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and received bachelor's degrees from University of Maryland in animal science and agriculture and extension education. She is employed with the City of Hagerstown.

Mr. Grubbs is the son of James and Ann Grubbs of Cearfoss. He is a 1974 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. He is employed with the City of Hagerstown.

A July 2006 wedding is planned.

Kretzer-Lapole


Heather Sue Kretzer and Kenneth Wayne Lapole of Smithsburg announce their engagement.

Ms. Kretzer is the daughter of Shelly and Steven Haskell of Knoxville and Charles Kretzer of Hagers-town. She is a 2003 graduate of Boonsboro High School. She is employed as a receiving specialist with Dot Foods in Williamsport.

Mr. Lapole is the son of Susan Lapole of Smithsburg. He is a graduate of Smithsburg High School. He is employed as a driver with Huntzberry Brothers Inc. in Smithsburg.

A July 22, 2006, wedding is planned.

Schaeffer-Fauber


Melissa R. Schaeffer and Woodrow F. Fauber Jr. announce their engagement.

Ms. Schaeffer is the daughter of Donna Hewitt and Jack Schaeffer of Hagerstown. She attended North Hagerstown High School. She is employed with Radio Shack Distribution.

Mr. Fauber is the son of Woodrow and Phyllis Fauber of Hagerstown. He is a graduate of North Hagerstown High School and attended Hagers-town Community College. He also is employed with Radio Shack Distribution.

A wedding date has not been set.

Black-Doyle


Erica Renee Black and Kenneth Paul Doyle announce their engagement.

Ms. Black is the daughter of Curtis Black of Hagerstown and Angela Black of Mercersburg, Pa. She is a 2005 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. She is employed with Hagerstown Rescue Mission.

Mr. Doyle is the son of Sheila Doyle of McConnellsburg, Pa., and the late Edward Keefer. He is a 1998 graduate of Forbes Road High School. He is employed as a machine assembler with JLG Industries.
