Accused man say real robber wore the same clothes

A man charged with robbing a gas station told Hagerstown Police Department officers he recognized the suspect caught on camera as someone wearing the same clothes he wore the day of the incident, according to court documents.

Ryan Dontrez Lynn, of 431 Salem Ave. in Hagerstown, who turned 18 after the May 15 incident, said he did not hold up the AC&T gas station at 724 Frederick St. in Hagerstown, according to court documents.

Bail for Lynn was lowered from $150,000 to $100,000 Tuesday, according to documents.

He is charged with armed robbery, robbery, theft of less than $500 and carrying a deadly weapon.

According to a statement of charges filed in Washington County District Court, Lynn is accused of threatening a gas station clerk with a 5-inch knife and stealing $179 from the gas station.

According to a spokesman, Lynn was being held Wednesday evening at Washington County Detention Center.
