Jefferson County talks about pool needs

June 26, 2006|by DAVE McMILLION

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - The Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Commission has discussed building a swimming pool at Sam Michaels Park off Job Corps Road, Jefferson County Commission member Dale Manuel said Thursday.

There has been consideration of building a pool with a retractable roof so that it could be used all year, parks officials said.

A survey of recreation needs was recently completed in the county and a year-round swimming facility was rated high among needed facilities.

There has been consideration of financing the construction of the pool through a bond, Manuel said.
