The Hagerstown branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) held its annual year-end picnic on Monday, June 12, at Doub's Woods.

Special guests were the AAUW scholarship recipients for the upcoming school year.

Officers for the 2006-07 year were installed. Jeanne Stoner and Joann Fillingham are co-presidents; program vice presidents are Carol Mendelsohn and Robbie Matonak; membership presidents, Louise Abdullah and Barbara Bowers; public policy vice president, Carol Myers; recording secretary, Peg Bucklew; corresponding secretary, Dolores Maletsky; and treasurer, Sheri Specht.

Officers were installed by Cleopatra Anderson of Frederick, Md., AAUW Maryland's legal advocacy fund chair.

Plans are under way for the group's fall paperback and holiday book sale, which will be held Nov. 2, 3 and 4 at the E.J. Fennel Building, 324 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown.
