FREDERICK, Md. - After a chase early Friday - first in a vehicle, then on foot - a Williamsport man was taken into custody by Frederick County Sheriff's Department deputies on traffic and drug charges.

James Fanon Brown, 34, faces charges including possession of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, resisting arrest and various traffic violations, according to a press release.

Brown was being held late Friday at the Frederick Adult Detention Center on $195,000 bond for the Frederick charges, and an additional $195,000 bond on unrelated drug and traffic charges from Washington County, where deputies say he is wanted by the Hagerstown Police Department.

Deputy 1st Class Michael Ensor attempted to stop Brown's vehicle on westbound Interstate 70 on Friday shortly before 2 a.m. for traffic violations, according to a press release.

A brief foot chase led to Brown's apprehension, when deputies say he resisted and was handcuffed. Twenty-five vials of suspected cocaine were seized, according to the release.
