Man charged with breaking into magistrate's shed

June 23, 2006

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A man was charged early Thursday with breaking into a shed at Berkeley County Magistrate Joan V. Bragg's residence in Martinsburg.

Ronnie Douglas Getts, 21, of 33 Wilson St., was jailed on one felony count of breaking and entering after an arraignment hearing was held by Magistrate Harry Snow.

Two other suspects remain at large, police said.

Investigators determined the shed's locking mechanism was pried open to gain entry, and a hedge trimmer was found on the ground next to the structure. Martinsburg Police Department Patrolman B.L. Rouse does not believe any items were stolen.

Bond for Getts was set at $20,000, court records show.
