Fire from a burning brush pile nearby set a sawdust pile on fire Wednesday afternoon behind MDL Custom Woodworks in Marion, Pa., according to owner Michael Slothour. The fire, called in about 3:30 p.m., extended above the ceiling of the shop, causing about $5,000 to $10,000 in damage, according to Marion Volunteer Fire Co. Chief Jerry Houpt. Firefighters from the Franklin, New Franklin (Pa.) and Greencastle (Pa.) Rescue Hose companies and Chambersburg (Pa.) Fire Department assisted at the scene.
