U.S. Air Force 2nd Lt. Michael Gray, son of Warren and Melody Gray of Knoxville, and grandson of Charles and Barbara Gray of Chesapeake Beach, Md., and William and Geraldine Teague of Mount Airy, Md., graduated from the Air Force's prestigious Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) program at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Finishing near the top of his class, Gray was selected as a T-38 Talon instructor pilot at Sheppard, where he will teach new student pilots from the United States and many of the NATO alliance countries.

Gray received a bachelor of science degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and soon will pursue a master's degree in aeronautical science.




Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Jeffrey S. Clark, son of Jeffrey and Tracey Clark of Martinsburg, W.Va., graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

Clark is a 2002 graduate of Musselman High School in Inwood, W.Va.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Michael D. Brown, son of Douglas Brown of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Dana Greist of Shepherdstown, W.Va., graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

Brown is a 2004 graduate of Martinsburg High School.




Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Jacob A. Kent, son of Joseph and Robin Kent of Martinsburg, W.Va., graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

Kent is a 2004 graduate of Martinsburg High School.




Navy Reserve Capt. Peter E. Petrelis, son of Arlene L. Petrelis of Califon, N.J., attended the Reserve Officer Strategy and Policy Course at the Naval War College in Newport, R.I.

Petrelis is a chief of staff assigned to the Military Sealift Command, Navy Operational Support Center in Pittsburgh. He has 25 years of military service.

His wife, Marie, is the daughter of William Seth of Smithsburg.

Petrelis is a 1977 graduate of Voorhees (N.J.) High School, and received a bachelor's degree in 1981 from the Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine.




Air National Guard Capt. Stephen D. Sigler, son of James and Kathleen Sigler of Hagerstown, is deployed overseas at a forward-operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sigler regularly is assigned to the 167th Airlift Wing in Martinsburg, W.Va.

His wife, Dawn, is the daughter of Steve Horvath of Poolesville, Md.

Sigler is a 1987 graduate of Clear Spring High School. He received a bachelor's degree in 1991 and a master's degree in 1993, both from Frostburg (Md.) State University.




Army National Guard Pvt. Justin C. Martz, son of Douglas M. Martz of McConnellsburg, Pa., and Kathy R. Neuder of Chambersburg, Pa., graduated from the Light-Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic Advanced Individual Training (AIT) course at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

The course is designed to train soldiers to perform maintenance, troubleshoot and repair wheeled vehicles and related mechanical components, which include internal combustion engines and powertrains, spark- and compression-ignition engines, wheel-hub assemblies, hydraulic-power brakes, suspension and steering systems, and for soldiers to learn to operate a wheeled vehicle crane, hoist and winch assembly.

Martz is a 2005 graduate of Waynesboro (Pa.) Area High School.
