Speakers and topics

Zion United Church of Christ, the Rev. Robert Royal will speak at the 10 a.m. service this Sunday. The topic will be Living the Values That Take You The Distance.

This Sunday is choir recognition, Vacation Bible School dedication and scholarship award recognition.

Sunday school resumes in the fall.




Calvary Grace Brethren Church, Pastor Doug Courter will speak on the topic, Payday, at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday.

Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m. There will be no evening service.

Bible study is Tuesday at 10 a.m. and youth activities are Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.




Pikeside United Methodist Church, Paynes Ford Road and U.S. 11, Martinsburg, W.Va., the Rev. Thomas Young will bring the message at the 8:30 and 10:35 a.m. services this Sunday. The topic is Dying to Become.

Sunday School for all ages is at 9:15 a.m.

Bible studies are Thursday at 7 p.m.




Mount Vernon Reformed UCC, Keedysville, Pastor Delancey Catlett will speak on the topic, Dwelling in God's House, at the 10:40 a.m. service this Sunday at Taylor Park. A covered dish meal will follow.

Christ Reformed United Church of Christ, Sharpsburg, Pastor Delancey Catlett will speak on the topic, Dwelling in God's House, at the 9 a.m. service this Sunday.

Children's Sunday school begins at 10 a.m.




Church of the Holy Trinity UCC, Halfway, the Rev. Timothy Leighton will lead the 10:45 a.m. service this Sunday. His sermon topic will be Chosen by God.

Children's church meets during the service. Fellowship and light refreshments follow the service.




Tri-State Fellowship, 13153 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, Character Tour '06, a summer of conversational worship, will be held Sundays from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Eric Boutieller, associate pastor of student ministries, will focus on David this week.

Children kindergarten through fifth grade will attend Summer Camp with David, a 90-minute time of games, learning, songs and fun, also at 9:30 a.m.




Shiloh United Methodist Church, Pastor Wayne Frum will be speaking at the 9:15 a.m. service this Sunday. The topic is Tools of The Trade. The ladies choral group will bring special music.

Children's church is during the worship service. Sunday school for all ages is at 10:40 a.m.




St. Peter's (Beard's) Lutheran Church, Old Forge Road, the Rev. David C. Baker will be speaking at the 9:15 a.m. communion service this Sunday. Fathers will be honored.

Sunday school for all ages is at 10:15 a.m.




Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Pastor Kenneth Hawes will speak on the topic, Seeds of the Kingdom, at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday.

Sunday school begins at 10:45 a.m.




Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville, Pastor Donna Ritchey Martin will be speaking on the topic, Father Noah, at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Sharpsburg, the Rev. Richard Hembrock will be speaking on the topic, Small Beginnings - Tremendous Results, at the 10 a.m. communion service this Sunday.

St. John's Episcopal Church, Hagerstown, the Rev. Joseph Rickards will preach this Sunday at the 8 and 10:15 a.m. communion services. The summer choir will provide music at the later service.

Christian education classes will resume in September.




St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the Rev. David Kaplan will be preaching this Sunday at the 8:15 a.m. chapel communion service and the 10:30 a.m. communion service on the topic, The New Breaking In.

Asbury United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown, W.Va., the Rev. Rudolph Bropleh, will bring the message, Like Father, Like Children, at the 11 a.m. service this Sunday.

Wednesday at 7 p.m., youth fun night will be at the Shepherdstown Youth Center.




St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, Pastor Mark Mooney will preach at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday on the topic, On Sowing Good Seed.

Mooney and his puppet friends will give a children's sermon.

The Purpose-Driven Life will be discussed following morning worship each Sunday through July 2.

Sunday School classes for children, youth and adults are at 10:45 a.m.




First Baptist Church, the Rev. Thom Smith will speak at the 11 a.m. service this Sunday. The topic is Conception of the Body.

Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m.




Valley Assembly of God Christian Life Center, 17544 York Road, Hagerstown, the Rev. Robert Jones will speak at 10 a.m. on David: A Son's Example. All dads will receive gifts.

Sunday school is at 9 a.m. There is also a 6 p.m. service with a message on water baptism.

The topic at the Wednesday service is Jonah.

Emmanuel Baptist Temple, 16221 National Pike, Hagerstown, Pastor Larry Aikens will be speaking at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services Sunday. The topic will be Dying to Be A Dad.

Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m.

Aikens will speak at the 6 p.m. evening service Sunday on the topic, Three Life-Changing Truths.
