Menno Haven

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Menno Haven Retirement Communities has named Ana L. Crider chief financial officer of the communities, effective May 22.

Crider, of Chambersburg, is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania holding a B.S.B.A. with majors in marketing and Spanish. She attended Shippensburg University, attaining a concentration in accounting.

She served from 1996 through 2000 as the vice president of finance and administration for Wilson College. Since 2000, she has held the position of director of financial planning and administration at Gettysburg College, while working on the completion of a master's in business administration from Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Md.

Susan A. Mongan

Susan A. Mongan of Hagerstown was installed as the president of the Delaware-Maryland-District of Columbia Division of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).


As president, Mongan will oversee 20 chapters of the association.

She received an associate of arts degree in the executive secretarial program at Hagerstown Community College in 1985.

She is employed at Bechtel Corporation in Frederick, Md.

IAAP is an association for office support staff.

The Shook Home

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Roxi Brindle has joined the board of directors of The Shook Home, which, with The Quarters at The Shook, is an independent, personal care and skilled care retirement community in Chambersburg.

Brindle, of Chambersburg, has been employed for 19 years at Strickler Agency in Chambersburg, where she is the human resources and operations manager. She holds the Certified Insurance Service Representative and Certified Insurance Counselor designations.

USA Marketing - US Latino Marketing

WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Jeannette A. Creger has joined the Washington, D.C.-based USA Marketing and US Latino Marketing as vice president of marketing.

Creger, of Walkersville, has a bachelor of science degree in journalism with an emphasis on advertising and marketing from the University of Maryland.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - R. Thomas Murphy of the law firm of Patterson, Kiersz & Murphy, P.C., in Waynesboro attended a symposium on elder law held by the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

The symposium, held in Washington, D.C., April 20-23, focused on elder law topics.

BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - Synergy students, graduates, faculty and staff members attended the Mid-Atlantic American Massage Therapy Association's Mid-Atlantic Conference in Ocean City, Md., May 4-6.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - John V. Loeffler has been appointed director - financial planning for BCT's One Financial Center.

Loeffler, of Shepherdstown, W.Va., is a graduate of the College of William & Mary. He has held senior executive positions in international banking, commercial banking, real estate lending, insurance and financial planning.

STATE LINE, Pa. - Realtor Karen Horejs has earned the ABR designation after completing a comprehensive course in buyer representation and an elective course focusing on a buyer representation specialty and submitting documentation verifying professional experience.

The ABR designation demonstrates to clients that an agent has taken steps to continue education in the field of buyer representation and has the proven experience and training to deliver ethical and professional service to real estate buyers, according to a release.

Horejs is a Realtor licensed in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Her office is at RE/MAX Associates Realty in State Line.


H. Bernie Decker, Correctional Officer II, has been selected as Employee of the Month at the Maryland Correctional Institution-Hagerstown.

He was selected for his diligent efforts in his current assignment as the 8-4 Shift I.D. officer. That post requires Decker to work with various agencies such as state and local law enforcement departments, as well as the FBI. Many volunteers and employees have benefited from Decker's efficiency, according to a prepared release.

Scott D. Ford, RFC, was named to Linsco/Private Ledger's Chairman's Club, a status reserved for fewer than 2 percent of advisers, based on production ranking of all registered advisors at LPL Financial Services at the end of 2005.
