TEDCO plans local briefing

The Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) will share details about technology transfer funding programs during a briefing to be held in Hagerstown.

The free briefing will be held Wednesday, June 28, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., at the Technical Innovation Center (TIC), Hagerstown Community College, 11400 Robinwood Drive, Suite 223, in Hagerstown.

The briefing will provide descriptions of the various funding programs, including eligibility requirements, guidelines for effective proposals, proposal submission, review processes and terms of the agreements.

Applications for funding programs are accepted continually and reviewed monthly by the TEDCO funding review team, which includes representatives from TEDCO, the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development, the Johnson and Johnson Corporate Office of Science and Technology and affiliated venture capital groups.


Applicants must submit a proposal, a commercialization plan for the technology to be developed, a scope of work and a budget.

State and federal funding programs that provide financial support for the development of technologies for commercialization in collaboration with Maryland universities and federal laboratories include:

  • Aberdeen Technology Transfer Initiative (ATTI)

  • Fort Detrick Technology Transfer Initiative (FDTTI)

  • Maryland Technology Transfer Fund (MTTF)

  • NAVAIR Technology Commercialization Initiative (NTCI)

  • University Technology Development Fund (UTDF)

  • Working Capital Loan Fund (WCLF)
