Speakers and topics

Unity, Shepherdstown, W.Va., this Sunday at 11 a.m., Rick Widdekind, author and artist, will be speaking on the topic, This Moment Is and I Exist Nowhere Else.

The congregation meets at the Train Station at German and High streets.

Zion United Church of Christ, Pastor Sandy Price will speak at the 10 a.m. service this Sunday. The topic will be In the Middle of the Night.

Sunday school resumes in the fall.

Calvary Grace Brethren Church, Pastor Doug Courter will speak on the topic, The Race You Don't Want to Win, at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday.

Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m.

Bible study is Tuesday at 10 a.m. and youth activities are Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Pikeside United Methodist Church, Paynes Ford Road and U.S. 11, Martinsburg, W.Va., the Rev. Thomas Young will bring the message at the 8:30 and 10:35 a.m. services this Sunday. The topic is Where Do We Find God?

Mount Vernon Reformed UCC,Keedysville, Pastor Delancey Catlett will speak on the topic, God is Love, at the 10:40 a.m. service this Sunday.

Church of the Holy Trinity UCC, Halfway, the Rev. Deryl Fleming will lead the 10:45 a.m. service this Sunday. His sermon topic will be Daydreaming About God.

Children's church meets during the service. Fellowship and light refreshments follow the service.

Tri-State Fellowship, 13153 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, Character Tour '06, a summer of conversational worship, will be held Sundays from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

This week the focus is on the compassion of Nehemiah. Dean Overholt, missionary to Thailand, will also speak concerning the 18 months he spent rebuilding coastal villages after the tsunami.

Children kindergarten through fifth grade will attend Summer Camp with David, a 90-minute time of games, learning, songs and fun, also at 9:30 a.m.

Church of Christ in the Great Valley, Minister C.R. Strunk will be speaking this Sunday at 10 a.m. on the topic, Are You Ready?

Wednesday night services begin at 7.

St. Peter's (Beard's) Lutheran Church, Old Forge Road, the Rev. David C. Baker will be speaking at the 9:15 a.m. service this Sunday. The topic is Once in a Lifetime.

Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Pastor Kenneth Hawes will speak on the topic, One in Three and Three in One, at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday.

Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville, Pastor Tim Ritchey Martin will be speaking on the topic, God So Loved The World, at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday.

Emmanuel Baptist Temple, 16221 National Pike, Hagerstown, Pastor Larry Aikens will be speaking at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services Sunday. The topic will be How Should Man Be Just With God?

Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m.

Aikens will speak at the 6 p.m. evening service Sunday on the topic, Filled With Glory.

Wednesday Bible study and children's programs are at 7:30 p.m. and teen group and master clubs meet at 7 p.m.

Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Md. 67 and Locust Grove Road, Rohrersville, the Rev. Blaine Feightner will be preaching on the topic, A Little Knowledge is Dangerous, at the 8:45 a.m. communion service this Sunday.

Christian education is at 10 a.m. The church picnic is at 4:30 p.m.

Pinesburg Baptist Church, 14706 Clear Spring Road, Williamsport, Pastor John Koontz Jr. will be speaking at the 11 a.m. service on the topic, Stung by a Bee. He will also teach during the 10 a.m. Sunday school.

Sharpsburg Church of the Brethren, the Rev. Homer Nutting Jr. will speak at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday on the topic, Choices. Donna Nutting will be worship leader.

Sunday school for children begins at 10 a.m., and 11:45 a.m. for adults.

Zion Assembly of God, Maugansville, Mission Weekend will be tonight and Sunday at 7.

St. John's Episcopal Church, Hagerstown, the Rev. Scott Bellows will preach at the 8 and 10:15 a.m. communion services this Sunday.

The early service will take place at St. John's, and the later service will be held at St. James' School Chapel on College Road with the parish picnic following the service on the school grounds.

The gospel story will be presented dramatically by Krista Lodter, biblical storyteller, at both services. The parish choir will provide music at the later service.

Christian education classes resume in September.

Asbury United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown, W.Va., the Rev. Rudolph Bropleh, will bring the message, The Sweetness of Servanthood, at the 11 a.m. service this Sunday.

Wednesday at 7 p.m., youth fun night will be at the Shepherdstown Youth Center.
