Hagerstown Trust gives $5,000 to Interfaith Housing Alliance

June 08, 2006

Hagerstown Trust Co. has donated $5,000 to Interfaith Housing Alliance's Cascade site.

This check is the first installment of a three-year-grant in support of the alliance's assistance to 10 families who will build their own and each others' homes through a Mutual Self-Help Homeownership Program.

"We are very excited to partner with Interfaith Housing Alliance in its efforts to produce work-force housing and to assist in making the dream of homeownership a reality in our community," said Jack Castle, president and CEO of Hagerstown Trust.

"The recent volatile housing market has left many hardworking families behind," said Jim Upchurch, president of Interfaith Housing Alliance. "This commitment from Hagerstown Trust eases that challenge and helps to open new opportunities in the community."
