Duplicate bridge club posts results

Twenty pairs competed Friday, June 2, in the annual Worldwide Bridge Contest during a meeting of the Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club. The hands that were played in Hagerstown are the same hands that were played worldwide.

In the overall results, Denise Clow and Frank Carden finished first in the A stratum with a 65.74-percent game. Elaine Rowe and Judy Ochs were second in Flight A with 60.65 percent, and Maxine Gettler and Bob Back came in third in A and first in Flights B and C with 59.49 percent. Iris Yonetz and Bob Munger placed fourth in A with 53.01 percent, and Bill and Madeline Davis were fifth in A and second in B with 52.78 percent.

Margaret Peirce and Rich Evans finished sixth in A with 52.31 percent. Glenn Beidel and John Oyler came in third in B with 51.62 percent, and Lynn Welsh and Ralph Cate were fourth in B with 51.39 percent. Barbara Beard and Joann Fillingham placed fifth in B and second in C with 50.93 percent, and Ann Lebherz and Will Garner were third in C with 50 percent. Debbie and Scott Kiser placed third in B and first in C in the East/West direction, and Peg Abercrombie and Jean Hollyday were second in C East/West.

The Little Heiskell Duplicate Bridge Club meets Fridays at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion on Northern Avenue in Hagerstown. All bridge players are welcome. For more information, call 301-797-4627.
