Wrapping books for babies

Books for Babies will conduct book wrapping from 4:15 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Washington County Free Library's B/C Meeting Room, South Potomac Street, Hagerstown. Volunteers will wrap books to be given to parents of newborns at Washington County Hospital.

History of Shepherdstown, Jefferson County

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Jim Surkamp will give an interpretation of the history of Shepherdstown and Jefferson County through photographs during a meeting of the Shepherdstown Kiwanis Club. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Christ Reformed Church, East German Street. Free and open to the public.

Christian Women's Club breakfast

Hagerstown Christian Women's Club will hold its monthly breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 8, at Plaza Hotel in Hagerstown. The breakfast will feature Pat Beard of Whimsical Wishes, themed birthday parties for children in Hagers-town. Vocalist Holly Ridenour of Hagerstown will sing.

Community yard sale

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Asbury United Methodist Church will hold a community yard sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, June 9, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 10, Asbury United Methodist Church, corner of George and North streets. For a donation, table space is available in front of Asbury's Recreation Center. The sale will feature furniture, tools, bicycles, children's items and other donated items. BOONSBORO - Country ham sandwiches, steamers, hot dogs, homemade soups, pies, cakes, beverages and baked goods will be sold at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 10, in the multipurpose room at Fahrney-Keedy Home, 8507 Mapleville Road. Books also will be sold in the pavilion.

Indoor yard sale

BOLIVAR, W.Va. - An indoor yard sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10, in the social room of Bolivar United Methodist Church, 1215 W. Washington St. The fundraiser is sponsored by the Pollyanna Class. The sale will feature a silent auction table, bake sale, indoor yard sale, plants and sandwiches.
