June 06, 2006

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The Hagerstown Suns scored four runs in the eighth inning to take a 6-3 lead Monday and held on for a 6-5 victory over the West Virginia Power.

Joe Holden hit his second homer of the game leading off the eighth for the Suns (20-36), who scored two more runs on an infield error and another on Drew Butera's RBI single.

The Power (31-24) drew within a run on Ned Yost's two-run homer in the bottom half, but Suns reliever German Marte shut the door with the final four outs. He gave up two two-out singles in the ninth before striking out Angel Salome.
