The Herald-Mail Co. has announced the following promotions:

Jason Hall, who's been with the company for two years as a sales associate in the Advertising Department, has moved into the position of outside sales representative, handling the company's Frederick, Md., territory.

He previously worked for Chevy Chase Bank, the Potomac Companies Inc. and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.

Hannah Ritchick, who joined the company in August 2004 as a part-time customer service representative, has been named an inside sales representative in the Classified Department.

Shawn Angulo has moved from a part-time retention representative to full-time customer service representative in the Circulation Department.

Andrew Schotz, who's been with the company since January 2000, serving in a number of reporting capacities, has been named Annapolis reporter.


In this capacity, he will cover the Maryland General Assembly from January through mid-April. He will cover legislative issues as they arise during the year, and will cover state lawmaker races during the 2006 elections. Schotz most recently served as senior reporter in the newsroom.

Candyace Vincent has been hired as a sales associate in the Advertising Department and Rick Blair has been hired as an overnight member of the maintenance staff.

Ricky Bassford, Amanda McGowen, Victoria Waters, Karen Flohr and Craig Tucker have joined the Packaging & Distribution Department as part-time inserters, while Jenna Smith, Penny Rowland and Carol Nemzek have been hired to work part time in Circulation.

Ann Reynolds was rehired as a part-time sales representative in Classified, David Macht was hired as a part-time security guard in Human Resources and Richard Belisle as a part-time, temporary Pennsylvania reporter.

Curt Hornbecker, a part-time correspondent in the Sports Department, marked 10 years with the company in May.


FREDERICK, Md. - Tricia Johnson is the new owner of a StrollerFit Exercise With Your Baby franchise in the Frederick area.Classes are held at the SportsPlex in Frederick.

Johnson holds certifications in group fitness instruction, StrollerFit and adult/infant CPR.

The StrollerFit program blends exercise science, infant and child development and group dynamics into a 50-minute workout.

Hagerstown Trust Co.

Curtis E. Spicher has been named to the board of directors of Hagerstown Trust Co. He will be responsible for ensuring that the management and performance of the bank are conducted in a way that represents the interest of its depositors and of Fulton Financial Corporation, holding company of Hagerstown Trust, and, in turn, its shareholders.

The board of directors also ensures that the bank operates using safe and sound business banking practices.

Spicher is a third generation owner and operator of Spicher's Appliance and Electronics in Hagerstown.

He graduated from Shippensburg University with a degree in business administration in 1985.

Coldwell Banker

Jeffrey Hurd Jr. has joined Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage as a Sales Associate with the Hagerstown office.

He joins The Home Team as the newest agent licensed in Maryland.

SuZanne Glocker of the Glocker Group was recognized as the top sales associate by settled volume for April.

Linda Wigfield was the top sales associate by settled units for April.

Cynthia Moler in April was the top listing sales associate by volume, the top listing sales associate by units, the top selling sales associate by volume and the top selling sales associate by units.

Millennium Financial Group Inc.

FREDERICK, Md. - Dottie Planck has joined the Millennium Financial Group Inc., Mlend, team as operations manager of the Baughman's Lane branch.

Planck's background is in lending with an emphasis on arranging financing for farms.

Rob Maricle has been named branch manager. He will work in the Frederick Branch on Baughman's Lane. Maricle, with a background in the mortgage business, will manage loan officers as well as an $80 billion client base.

Mackintosh Inc.

FREDERICK, Md. - Matthew Hauk has joined the residential sales team at Mackintosh Inc. Realtors' Frederick office.

Hauk, of Frederick, is a member of the Frederick County Association of Realtors.

B.P. Lesky Distributing Co.

B.P. Lesky Distributing Co. Inc. held a recognition dinner on Friday, May 5, at Fountain Head Country Club, to honor four employees who have 20 years or more of service. Those honored were:

M&T Bank

BALTIMORE - Mike Pinto, chairman and CEO of M&T Bank's Mid-Atlantic Division, was elected by the membership of the Maryland Bankers Association to serve on its board of directors for a three-year term.

As a board member, Pinto will help to achieve Association goals and strategies over the next three years.
