June 02, 2006

Due to source's error and a reporter's error, a story about a local team winning a Destination Imagination competition in Knoxville, Tenn., on page A1 of the May 29 Morning Herald contained incorrect information.

The Mindbusters team from St. Mary School in Hagerstown competed against 69 other teams in a challenge known as "How'd tHAT Happen?" The challenge required teams to do the following:

  • Create and present a theatrical performance of an original story about unusual events in a nation other than their own.

  • Present the story in the style of one of eight genres.

  • Design and create a hat that dramatically transforms the wearer.

  • Use one or more technical methods to cause a bizarre happening to take place.

  • Create two side trips and integrate them into the presentation.

The Herald apologizes for the mistakes.
