"Why doesn't the Hagerstown area have the latest digital mammography for their patients? The women in this area deserve the latest and the best possible care for breast cancer. Also, we need more dermatologists in this area."

- Cascade

"I agree with the letter to the editor concerning the good work that Christ's Reformed Church has done in the West Franklin Street area. It is not a war zone as stated in your paper. This church has contributed their time and money to better the downtown community, and they did it on their own. They didn't use any of the taxpayers' money, as was done for the North High stadium. Let's all remember that it was God who created us. Again, thanks to all the other churches in our community that try to help better our community and never get recognized for it."

- Hagerstown

"I want to thank the townspeople Madeleine and Marilyn for putting up a monument in memory of the veterans. I grew up in this town, and I'm very proud of the people that did this great deed for the men and women that fought for this country. I still have family members living there. Thank you and God bless you all."

"I want to thank the city administration for setting up an electronic recycling program. I understand the first one, I believe it's the first one, will be conducted on Saturday, June 3, at the West End landfill. I believe this will help reduce the amount of trash, as a lot of the electronic parts, especially in computers, can be recycled instead of trashed."

- Hagerstown

"On these illegal immigrants coming in this country, the first thing Congress did a couple years ago in the Senate was pass this NAFTA thing that Bill Clinton ran around in the wee hours of the night begging people to vote for it and pass it, and what that does is give these companies in these other countries the right to flood this country with their products and goods, and the trade deficit is so far out of proportion it's unreal, and then these companies in the U.S. shut down and move to these other countries for cheaper labor. Now what they're doing is bringing the workers into this country, and most of them's getting paid under the table and they pay no taxes at all and they have no interest in becoming citizens of the U.S."

- Boonsboro

"This is to the person in Mail Call who said about how could any illegal alien take someone's job if they barely know any English. Well, I've got news for that person. That's just why they can take their job, because they don't realize, like I was a restaurant worker and I worked with a lot of foreigners, and they were like cleaning out the managers' cars and stuff, and the managers knew me, as an American and I speak English, that I knew better. I knew better, that I didn't have to do that. So there you go.."

- Hagerstown

"I would like to have a photo of Greensburg Elementary School. If anybody out there has a picture, please put it in Mail Call, your phone number, so I can get in contact with you. I'd like to have a photo of Greensburg Elementary School. Thank you."

"Does anyone know where I can obtain a free credit report? I haven't looked at my credit report in over five years, and I wanted to know how to go about getting a free one. I don't have access to the Internet."

- Hagerstown

"To the person from Waynesboro who thinks 65 miles an hour is too slow so we should speed up, you can call us fogies if you want to, but we're the ones obeying the law."

- Clear Spring

"I'm reading here in Mail Call where, saying about people giving 10 percent of their money when they go to church. Well, I agree with them 100 percent. God doesn't need any money. It just does go to the preacher so he can live high off the hog, or high off the horse, either one. And now he's starting to travel a lot, and he's also talking his church members into going too, every other week to wherever they're going, and I don't think that's right, because the congregation is paying this preacher to stay there to do his job. They're not paying him to go out to travel from place to place and expect them to pay him, plus his traveling, but they don't replace him with a preacher. It's just anyone from the church can go up on the pulpit and entertain the people from in the evenings and then on Sunday morning. That's not right, but that's the way it is."

- Boonsboro

"I can see a lot of people are upset about the County Commissioners giving money to North Hagerstown High for their stadium. I can see also, it will buy a lot of votes for them later on."

- Hagerstown

"I heard on the news today where Hillary Clinton would like to bring back the 55 mph speed limit in order to save energy. If the government is really serious about saving energy, maybe they should bring back the Sunday blue laws. Imagine the gasoline that would be saved if all the parking lots and shopping centers wouldn't be packed on the weekends, especially on Sundays."

- Greencastle, Pa.
