May 31, 2006

HICKORY, N.C. - Hickory rallied to tie the game in the ninth inning and win it in the 11th Tuesday for a 7-6 victory and a four-game sweep of the slumping Hagerstown Suns.

The Suns took a 6-5 lead in the eighth when Matt Anderson singled home Jonel Pacheco.

The Crawdads tied the game in the ninth when Steve Lerud drew a leadoff walk from German Marte before scoring on consecutive two-out singles by Brent Lillibridge and James Boone.

The Suns loaded the bases in the 11th, but Hector Pellot grounded back to pitcher Matt Swanson for an inning-ending double play.

Josh Appell issued Lillibridge a two-out walk before Boone and Andrew McCutchen each singled to bring in the winning run.
