Suns' losing streak reaches seven games

HICKORY, N.C. - The Hagerstown Suns dropped further into the cellar of the South Atlantic League's Northern Division on Monday, falling to the Hickory Crawdads 6-2 for their seventh straight loss.

Hickory starter Joe Bauserman (3-3) allowed one run and five hits in seven innings to earn the victory.

Down 2-0 in the fifth, the Suns cut the deficit in half when Rafael Arroyo was hit by a pitch, took second on Jonel Pacheco's base hit and scored on Joe Holden's single.

The Crawdads took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single from Brent Lillibridge, then broke the game open with three runs in the seventh.

Suns starter Jonathon Niese (6-3) took the loss, giving up three runs on six hits and four walks. He struck out six.

The Suns are 18-32, 12 games behind division leader Delmarva.
