May 29, 2006

HICKORY, N.C. - RBI singles by Jason Delaney and Steve Lerud in the fourth inning were all the offense the Hickory Crawdads needed to defeat the struggling Hagerstown Suns 2-1 on Sunday afternoon, handing the Suns their sixth straight defeat.

Nick Evans' home run in the seventh inning was the only bright spot for Hagerstown (18-31) offensively, as the Suns were held to five hits.

Hickory (20-27) starter Todd Redmond (5-3) worked 6 2/3 innings, allowing four hits and striking out six.

Bobby Parnell (0-3) went six innings for the Suns, allowing five hits and one walk while fanning seven. Brandon Nall worked two scoreless innings.
