Broadfording student awarded scholarship

Hannah Bywaters of Hagerstown, a student at Broadfording Christian Academy, has been awarded the annual PRIDE scholarship by Dobson Communication Corp.

The winners were selected from among applicants who were current customers or children of Dobson employees, according to a company press release.

Dobson is a provider of wireless phone services and operates some of its locations under the trade name of Cellular One. Dobson, which operates in 16 states, awarded 100 scholarships in those states, according to the release.

Myers awarded Sigma Phi Alpha scholarship

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Taryn Myers of Greencastle earned a Sigma Phi Alpha scholarship.

A 1996 graduate of James Buchanan High School, Myers worked full time for seven years at First Data Merchant Services in Hagerstown.

She is a spring 2006 graduate of Allegany College of Maryland with an associate degree in dental hygiene.
