Man hospitalized after being stabbed

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A man was stabbed in the chest early Saturday in Berkeley County, according to a press release issued by the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department.

Jason Luna, 24, was taken to City Hospital in Martinsburg after being stabbed at Lewis Brothers Orchards at 198 Catrow Road, according to the release.

A hospital official could not find information on Luna's condition.

She said the hospital did not transfer Luna to another facility. He might have been discharged from the emergency room, she said.


Police said they interviewed the victim and witnesses and are "developing a possible suspect."

Four face drug-related charges in probe

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Four Martinsburg residents are facing drug-related charges as the result of a monthlong investigation by the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department's Criminal Investigation Division.

Allen Lee Lowe, 28, of East Road, was charged with one count of delivery of crack cocaine, according to a press release. Police said an informant allegedly purchased crack from Lowe in April.

Zachary Shanholtz, 19, of Railroad Drive, and Eric Banks, of East Burke Street, each were charged with conspiracy, according to the release. Police said their bond was set at $15,000 each.

Jody Shanholtz, 33, of Railroad Drive, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and conspiracy, according to the release. His bond was set at $35,000, police said.

Jody Shanholtz, Zachary Shanholtz and Banks were charged after an informant allegedly purchased crack cocaine from Jody Shanholtz in April, according to the release.

Hagerstown Police respond to calls

The Hagerstown Police Department responded to the following incidents:


The theft of a violin from Western Heights Middle School at 1300 Marshall St. was reported at 3:19 p.m.


The theft of gasoline from Sheetz at 1396 S. Potomac St. was reported at 3:18 a.m.

A sexual assault in Court 7, Noland Drive, was reported at 4:33 a.m.

An injured person at 1580 Wesel Blvd. was reported at 4:09 p.m.

Malicious destruction of property/trespass in the 300 block of West Washington Street was reported at 6:09 p.m. Two juveniles were charged.

A sexual assault in the 200 block of West Franklin Street was reported at 11:04 p.m.


A stolen West Virginia license plate was located at 3:50 a.m. and reported to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department. The tag number was 1CL409.
