The Ebersoles

Gerald "Mannie" and Lorraine Ebersole of Hagerstown celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at the Western Sizzlin Steakhouse.

The Ebersoles were married Dec. 25, 1940, at First Brethren Church in Hagers-town, by the Rev. William H. Beachler.

They retired from Ebersole's Plumbing, Heating and Appliance on U.S. 40, east of Clear Spring, after 40 years.

They have two daughters, Dorothy E. Younker and husband Fred, and Geraldine L. Sprecher and husband Forrest; and two sons, Paul L. Ebersole and wife Robinn, and Richard Ebersole and wife Linda. They also have eight granddaughters and two grandsons; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Ebersole is the son of the late Dorothy Elizabeth Moore and Roy Lester Ebersole.

Mrs. Ebersole is the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Mowen and Paul Ellsworth Crawford McNamee.

The Kneppers

William and Elizabeth Knepper celebrated 50 years of marriage Friday, April 14, 2006.

The Kneppers were married April 14, 1956, at the Riverdale Presbyterian Church, University Park, Hyattsville, Md.


They have two daughters, Julie Markle of Marana, Ariz., and Holly Knepper of Baltimore.

Mr. Knepper retired from Mack Trucks in 1986.

Mrs. Knepper retired from the Office of the State's Attorney for Washington County.

They have lived in Halfway for more than 43 years.

The Barrons

Wayne and JoAnn Barron of Hagerstown celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at the Elks Lodge in Hagerstown. About 20 family members attended the celebration, hosted by daughter Debbie and her husband David, of Hagerstown. Unable to attend was the Barrons' other daughter, Joni Moreno of Florida.

The Barrons were married Jan. 7, 1966. They have two grandchildren.
