A charge that a 62-year-old Williamsport man threatened to "blow up" the Washington County Permits and Inspections office in March has been dropped, court documents state.

Washington County Assistant State's Attorney Arthur Rozes dismissed the single charge of arson/threat filed against Charles Leroy Hose Sr. during a District Court hearing May 9 before District Judge Ralph H. France II, court documents state.

Hose originally was scheduled to appear May 24 in District Court on the charge, which stemmed from an alleged threatening telephone call made March 17 to the building at 80 W. Baltimore St. in Hagerstown, according to court documents.
