Halfway Park Days to be held this weekend

Halfway Park Days will be this weekend at Martin L. "Marty" Snook Memorial Park in Halfway.

The event, sponsored by The Lions Club of Halfway, will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

Miss Washington County Carrie Shank will be on hand to greet those attending the event.

The event will include arts and crafts vendors who will offer such items as dust art, character drawings, painting, landscape photos, mahogany models, bird feeders, pillows, afghans, Longaberger baskets, leather handbags, mineral specimens, wrought iron, greeting cards and other handmade items.

Among the food items that will be available will be barbecued chicken, ham sandwiches, seafood items, funnel cakes, Philly cheese steak sandwiches, Italian sausage, snow cones, pit ham and beef, hamburgers, ice cream, steamers, soup and french fries.

The following is the entertainment schedule for the weekend:

Saturday

- The Midnighters (South High Jazz Band) will perform at 1:15 and 2:15 p.m. at the football field pavilion.

- A Jung Sim Do Korean karate demonstration will be at 4 p.m. at the football field pavilion.

- Michael T. will perform magic at 2 and 4 p.m. at the funnel cake pavilion.

Sunday

- Ho-Kiss Po-Kiss will perform from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the football field pavilion.

- Michael T. will perform magic at 2 and 4 p.m. at the funnel cake pavilion.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Lions projects and services in the community,
