Write-in votes being counted

May 22, 2006|by JENNIFER FITCH

In the primary election, Todd Rock of Mont Alto, Pa., won the Republican nomination for the 90th District seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives over incumbent and fellow GOP-party member Patrick E. Fleagle, who voted in favor of the pay raise.

Fleagle could appear on November's ballots as the Democratic nominee if he garnered at least 300 of the 769 write-in votes cast by 90th District Democrats last week.

"We are expecting to have those numbers on Tuesday morning," Franklin County Commissioner Bob Thomas, a member of the Board of Elections, said.

Staff started consolidating the write-in information Friday, he said.

If someone did have 300 or more write-in votes, that person could then petition to have his or her name removed from ballots in November, he said.
