SpringFest offers free entertainment

May 16, 2006|by ROBERT KELLER

CLEAR SPRING - Paintball, strongman contests and other teen-oriented activities are scheduled for the third annual SpringFest.

The event starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, and lasts until 2 p.m. at New Life Christian Ministries, Trinity Church Drive, off U.S. 40, east of Clear Spring.

While SpringFest is located at a church, the festival itself promotes the community of Clear Spring and its community projects.

There's free food - including snacks, steamers and hot dogs - drinks, activities and giveaways. In addition to paintball and the strongman contest, there will be a dunking tank, a Maryland State Police helicopter and dogs, and representatives of the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Department and the ambulance company.

There will be a wide variety of music, too.

Also, Clear Spring High School's jazz band will perform throughout the day.
