'Walk for a Tobacco Free World' slated for May 25



The Coalition for a Healthier Washington County, in partnership with Washington County Public Schools and the Washington County Health Department, is sponsoring a "Walk for a Tobacco Free World" on Thursday, May 25, at Doubs Woods Park on Downsville Pike.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. At 6 p.m., Sterlen Barr, aka No Puff Daddy, will perform. Barr uses rap music to deliver an anti-tobacco message. The walk will begin about 6:45 p.m.

Citizenship award program set for May 25 at North High



The annual Elementary Principal's Citizenship Award program will be Thursday, May 25, at 7 p.m. at North Hagerstown High School.

More than 65 elementary school students from across Washington County will be recognized for outstanding citizenship.

A committee from the Washington County Association of Elementary School Administrators organizes the awards program each year, which is sponsored by Hamilton Nissan.
