Manitowoc issues quarterly dividend

MANITOWOC, Wis. - The board of directors of The Manitowoc Company Inc. has declared a regular quarterly dividend of 3.5 cents per share of common stock, payable on June 12 to shareholders of record on June 2.

TEDCO to hold funding briefings

FREDERICK, Md. - The Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) will share details about technology transfer funding programs during a briefing to be held in Frederick.

The free briefing is scheduled for Thursday, May 25, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., at the Fort Detrick Business Development Office, 201 Thomas Johnson Drive, Suite 208, in Frederick.

Those state and federal funding programs provide financial support for the development of technologies for commercialization in collaboration with Maryland universities and federal laboratories.


The briefing will provide descriptions of the various funding programs, including eligibility requirements, guidelines for effective proposals, proposal submission and review processes and terms of the agreements.

Applications for funding programs are accepted continually and reviewed monthly by the TEDCO funding review team, which includes representatives from TEDCO, the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED) and affiliated venture capital groups.

Applicants must submit a proposal, a commercialization plan for the technology to be developed, a scope of work and a budget.

ABF gains patent for shipment planner

FORT SMITH, Ark. - ABF Freight System Inc. has secured a U.S. patent directed to its Electronic Shipment Planner, an Internet-based technology available through the carrier's Web site.

The technology powers ABF's Shipment Planner and Shipment Snapshot applications. It helps ABF customers manage and track shipments through a calendar interface.
