Shaffer-Lingenfelter

Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Shaffer of Frederick, Md., announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Erin Shaffer, to William Spackman Lingenfelter, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Lingenfelter of Hagerstown.

Ms. Shaffer is a 1998 graduate of Frederick High School, received a bachelor's degree in psychology from St. Mary's College of Maryland in 2002 and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction in special education from Hood College in 2005. She is employed with Frederick County Public Schools in Maryland as a special education teacher at Ballenger Creek Middle School.

Mr. Lingenfelter is a 1998 graduate of Boonsboro High School and received a bachelor's degree in economics from St. Mary's College of Maryland in 2002. He is employed as a fire claims representative with State Farm Insurance Companies in Frederick.

Hawbaker-Parkhouse

James and Barbara Hawbaker of Greencastle, Pa., announce the engagement of their daughter, Tiffany Ann Hawbaker, to Scott Thomas Parkhouse, son of Roger and Mary Parkhouse of Warren, Conn.

Miss Hawbaker received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Messiah College in 2002 and is pursuing a master's degree in counseling at Liberty University. She is employed as an intervention specialist with the Wheeler Clinic in New Britain, Conn.

Mr. Parkhouse received a bachelor's degree in history from Western Connecticut State University in 2002 and a master of education degree from Bridgeport University in 2004. He is employed as a seventh-grade social studies teacher with Woodbury Middle School. He also served in the U.S. Air Force for seven years, stationed in Afghanistan for several months.

A July 2006 wedding is planned in Hagerstown.

Shea-Pearson

Dr. and Mrs. Michael P. Shea of Waynesboro, Pa., announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan E. Shea, to Rodney T. Pearson Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney T. Pearson Sr. of Keedysville.

Miss Shea is a 2002 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School and plans to receive a Bachelor of Science in education in social studies and secondary education in May. She is employed as a teller with The First National Bank of Greencastle. She also serves as a member of the Waynesboro Area Board of School Directors.

Mr. Pearson is a 1997 graduate of Boonsboro High School and graduated with honors from Hagerstown Community College in 1999. He is employed as an account executive with International Gourmet Foods in Springfield, Va.

An Aug. 5, 2006, wedding is planned.

Hoffman-Gladhill

Katie Allison Hoffman and Tucker Ray Gladhill announce their engagement.

Miss Hoffman is the daughter of Keith and Judy Hoffman of Hagerstown. She is a 2000 graduate of Smithsburg High School and received a Bachelor of Science from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. She is employed as a civilian account manager with Global Professional Solutions in Alexandria, Va.

Mr. Gladhill is the son of Joe and Teri Wolford of Clear Spring. He is a 2002 graduate of Clear Spring High School and received a Bachelor of Science from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Md. He is self-employed.

A Nov. 11, 2006, wedding is planned.

Sheppard-Harmon

John E. and Cynthia A. Sheppard of St. Thomas, Pa., announce the engagement of their daughter, Krystle Marie Sheppard, to Justin Eugene Harmon, son of David E. and Penny M. Harmon of St. Thomas.

Ms. Sheppard is a 2004 graduate of James Buchanan High School and graduated from Chambersburg Beauty School this year. She is employed with Shear Innovations Salon in Chambersburg, Pa.

Mr. Harmon is a 1999 graduate of James Buchanan High School and a 2003 graduate of Shippensburg University with a major in business management. He is owner of Ultimate Lawn Care Landscaping in Chambersburg.

A Sept. 23, 2006, wedding is planned.

Houtakker-Downey

Jennifer M. Houtakker and Ryan L. Downey announce their engagement.

Ms. Houtakker is the daughter of Gerald and Marilyn Houtakker of Cuba City, Wis. She is a 1996 graduate of Cuba City High School and received a Bachelor of Science in communication technologies management from the University of Wisconsin at Platteville in 2001.

Mr. Downey is the son of Frank and Carolyn Downey of Williamsport. He is a 1999 graduate of Williamsport High School.

Together, they are partners in Downey Farms Inc. in Williamsport.

A June 24, 2006, wedding is planned.

Nazelrod-Wiles

Pam and Mike Nazelrod of Falling Waters, W.Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Nazelrod, to Ryan Wiles, son of Greg and Becky Wiles of Williamsport.

Miss Nazelrod is a 2005 graduate of Hedgesville High School and plans to graduate with a degree in health information technology from Hagerstown Business College in January 2007.

Mr. Wiles is a 2005 graduate of Williamsport High School and Washington County Technical School with certification in collision repair.

An April 2007 wedding is planned.
