Postal workers to take part in Stamp Out Hunger

Area postal workers will participate Saturday in Stamp Out Hunger, a campaign sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers in cooperation with the U.S. Postal Service.

Postal patrons may set out canned, jarred and boxed nonperishable food. Glass containers or items past their expiration dates will not be accepted.

Monetary donations for the effort may be given to postal workers. Checks should be written to Food Resources of Washington County.

There also will be collection sites at the United Auto Workers headquarters on Maugans Avenue, Hospice at 1500 Pennsylvania Ave., the Walnut Street Community Health Center behind St. Mary's Catholic Church and at the United Way office at 18706 Crestwood Drive.

All donations will go to food banks in Washington County.
