Poster contest for grades four to six

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Diversity Committee of American Red Cross Blood Services, Greater Alleghenies Region, has announced its poster contest to benefit children in developing countries and to help decorate a corridor of regional headquarters in Johnstown.

The contest is open to children who are enrolled in the fourth through sixth grades.

This year's theme is "The Red Cross at Work Around the World."

Regional co-workers will vote for their favorite entries using tickets purchased from the region's diversity committee. Funds generated through the ticket sales will be donated to support The Measles Initiative.

Prizes will be awarded for first place, $100; second place, $75; and third place, $50. Honorable mention awards also will be given. Entrants will receive an American Red Cross recognition item.

Participants may make a poster or draw or paint a picture, and the entries must be at least 11 inches by 14 inches and no larger than 12 inches by 16 inches.
