Born June 30, 1926, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late William Melvin Reid and Mary Agnes Bressler Reid.

He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School.

He retired after 35 years as a public accountant from the business of W. Melvin Reid and Sons.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1169 and the VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Lewis Reid; two daughters, Sherry Hager of Little River, S.C., and Dr. Terry Mathers of Mobile, Ala.; one son, Anthony Reid of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one sister, Marie Copenhaver of Martinsburg; one brother, Paul Reid of Summit Point W.Va.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, William Reid.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Martinsburg. The Rev. John V. DiBacco Jr. will be celebrant. Burial prayers will be said in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, where a vigil service will be held at 8 p.m.

Harry F. Wiles Jr., 78

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Harry Franklin "Bub" Wiles Jr., 78, of Charles Town, died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at his home.

Born Sept. 10, 1927, in Loudoun County, Va., he was the son of Harry Franklin Wiles Sr. and Daisy Russell Wiles.

He retired from the Jefferson County (W.Va.) School Board as a plumber.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Loudoun Heights, Va.

He was a member of Jackson Perks American Legion Post 71 of Charles Town.

He is survived by two daughters, Debra L. Darr of Charles Town, and Donna L. Hahn of Brunswick, Md.; one son, Donald W. Wiles of Frederick, Md.; one sister, Virginia Whitehair of Loudoun Heights; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Hildenbrand; and one brother, Ronald W. Wiles.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry, W.Va. Charles Whitehair will officiate.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Yolanda M. Severs, 75


APRIL 25, 1931-MAY 9, 2006

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Yolanda Mary Severs, 75, of Bunker Hill, died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born April 25, 1931, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Settimio and Octavia Trenta Piccolomini.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Nathan Severs.

She formerly was employed by Angie's Restaurant and Ramon's, with more than 50 years of service.

She is survived by one son, Denny S. Severs of Bunker Hill; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by six sisters, Marcellina Orsini, Christina Piccolomini, Viva McDaniel, Eva Angelo, Eva Marini and Angelina Cataldi; and four brothers, Chris Piccolomini, Samuel Piccolomini, John Piccolomini and Paul Piccolomini.

Services and burial will be private.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.




Agnes S.T. Rowland, 87

SCOTLAND, Pa. - Agnes S.T. Rowland, 87, formerly of Apple Tree Lane, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at Shippensburg (Pa.) Health Care Center.

Born March 30, 1919, in Blantyre, Scotland, United Kingdom, she was the daughter of the late George and Agnes Tennant Baillie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rowland, in 1970.

She had attended Scotland United Methodist Church in Scotland, Pa., and Christian Missionary Alliance in Greensboro, N.C.

She is survived by one daughter, Nessie Kind of Bloomsburg, Pa.; one brother, Neil Rowland of Scotland, United Kingdom; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Catherine Rowland; one son, David Rowland; 11 sisters and brothers; and one grandson.

Graveside services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Salem Cemetery, Chambersburg, Pa. The Revs. Kathleen and Charles Kind will officiate.

Jane L. Burker, 59


JUNE 16, 1946-MAY 8, 2006

Jane Lucille Burker, 59, of 66 W. Church St. in Hagerstown, died Monday, May 8, 2006, at Washington County Hospital.

Born June 16, 1946, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Phillip Edward and Sylvia Ann Welch Stuck.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Plume, Harry Starliper and Ronald Starliper, all of Hagerstown; two half sisters, May Rowe of Hagerstown, and Peggy Cress of Virginia; one half brother, Lester Smith of Hagerstown; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Wilson A. Starliper Jr.

A memorial service will be Monday at 7 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing.
