A Boonsboro Middle School seventh-grader and South Hagerstown High School freshman were honored as Youths of the Month at Tuesday's Washington County Commissioners meeting.

Sarah Hull, the daughter of Matthew and Sarah Hull, has been on the honor roll in sixth- and seventh-grades at Boonsboro Middle School. A Girl Scout, Sarah participates in her church youth group and digital photo club at her school. She has received the Citizenship Award, Success through Academic Recognition.

Sarah also participates in Family Fun Night every Friday, car washes, church food drives and the luminaria lighting in Keedysville at Christmas.

According to Joy Storms, who nominated Sarah, she is trustworthy, honest, responsible and a team player and good decision-maker.

A team captain for freshman football and basketball, South High student Cory Shank hopes he is able to maintain his perfect attendance through graduation.
