She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Benjamin C. Bright; three sons, B. Andrew Bright and wife, Paula, of Falling Waters, W.Va., Matthew Lynn Bright and wife, Karen, of Newburg, W.Va., and Nathan Eric Bright and wife, Alicia, of Hendersonville, N.C.; two sisters, Carol Lynn Varney and husband, Wesley, of Hagerstown, Md., and Ramona L. Tilton and husband, Keith, of Shamong, N.J.; three grandsons, Sean Bright, Tom Bright and Josh Bright; one granddaughter, Christina Bright; two nieces; and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Susan Bright.

Memorial services will be Thursday, May 11, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Berkeley Springs Church of Christ, 509 S. Green St., Berkeley Springs, W.Va., with the Minister Douglas A. Petty officiating.

Family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2006, and also following the service.

Memorial donations may be made to the John R. Marsh Cancer Center, 11110 Medical Campus Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Roy Michael Spooner, 55, of 10912 Bower Ave., Williamsport, Md., died Friday, May 5, 2006, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Sept. 3, 1950, in Burlington, Vt., he was the son of Mary Jane King Spooner and the late Roy Arthur Spooner, both of Burlington, Vt.

He was a 1968 graduate of Champlain Valley Union High School in Hinesburg, Vt. He received an associate degree from Champlain College in 1970 and a B.A. in business administration from Florida Atlantic University in 1975.

He was a retired letter carrier from the Hagerstown United States Postal Service. His last employment was with Horizon Goodwill Industries.

He served in the U.S. Army in 1970-72 and in 1976-80, specializing as a Russian voice interceptor.

As a member of Valley Grace Brethren Church, he enjoyed visiting nursing homes with God's Golden Gang.

Roy was an active member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch 443, serving as an officer for many years.

Throughout his life, he was a participant in many sports. Having a passion for soccer, he coached and refereed for the Hagerstown Area Youth Soccer League. He also refereed local and Tri-State high school soccer teams, as well as the Shepherdstown Adult Soccer League. He enjoyed dancing, particularly at Pen Mar, and delighted in a game of billiards.

He was a longtime supporter of Children International and the Christian Children's Fund.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Bonnie R. Spooner of Williamsport; son, Ryan M. Spooner of Hagerstown; sister, Sarah Spooner of Charlotte, Vt.; sister, Nancy Bradford of Colchester, Vt.; brother, Peter Spooner and family of Duluth, Minn.; extended family in Vermont; and a stepson and family in Guyton, Ga.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held Thursday, May 18, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. at Valley Grace Brethren Church, 17310 Gay St., Hagerstown, Md. Pastors Dan Pritchett, Ray Barger and Allen Robinson will officiate.
