Niese 5-0 for Suns

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Jonathon Niese worked six sharp innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out six, and the Hagerstown Suns broke a 2-2 tie with two runs in the sixth and defeated the Lakewood BlueClaws 5-2 on Monday evening.

Jose Castro singled leading off the sixth and Jonel Pacheco walked before Drew Butera singled to center to score Castro and break the tie, and Pacheco scored on a throwing error by center fielder Gregory Golson to make it 4-2.

Castro's RBI single in the seventh gave the Suns an insurance run.

Hagerstown took a 2-0 lead in the second on Nick Evans' leadoff home run and Drew Butera's RBI single. Lakewood tied it in the third on Julian Williams' double, Golson's RBI triple and Avelina Asprilla's RBI double.

Marcelo Perez earned his second save for the Suns with a perfect ninth, striking out two.
