Sobriety checkpoint in city leads to arrests, DUI charge

Three people were charged over the weekend with various offenses during a sobriety checkpoint in the 500 block of Virginia Avenue, according to the Hagerstown Police Department.

Of the 301 drivers who passed through the checkpoint Saturday night and Sunday morning, three motorists were pulled off the roadway for additional tests and nine motorists were stopped after avoiding the checkpoint, according to police.

  • William G. Hansford, 45, was charged with driving under the influence.

  • Dawn R. Jordan, 35, was arrested on a District Court warrant for perverted practice.

  • Jeremy M. Kolbfleisch, 24, was arrested on a District Court warrant for driving under the influence of alcohol, and he was charged with driving on a suspended driver's license
