CVSM band auditions

Cumberland Valley School of Music Symphonic Band is accepting new members for a Memorial Day concert. The concert program will include patriotic numbers and lighter music. Rehearsals are scheduled for 2 p.m. today and Sundays, May 21 and 28. The concert will be on Monday, May 29, at Memorial Park Bandshell. Rehearsals are in Chambersburg Area Senior High School's band room. Free. For information, call 1-717-261-1220.

Preservation projects

May is National Historic Preservation Month and Historic Shepherdstown Commission is seeking nominations from the public for its annual architectural preservation awards. Properties within the Shepherdstown magisterial voting district (25443) are eligible. Any preservation project which has been completed within the past five years will be eligible.

Nominations must be submitted by Friday, May 12. Call Historic Shepherdstown Commission office at 1-304-876-0910.

Gallery awards artist

Benjamin Art Gallery, LLC is honoring local artist Brad Clever from Chambersburg, Pa., with the "Benjamin Art Gallery Artist of the Year" award. Clever's original paintings and gicle canvases are hanging on display at Benjamin Art Gallery at 1303 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Call 301-797-4775.


Voice actors sought

CinemaAudio Productions has partnered with Chambersburg Community Theatre Inc. to record "Family Picnic" by Jeff Willoughby. Auditions will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 21, Capitol Theatre Wood Center. Each actor selected will receive a free final copy of the CD.
