Ryan Physical Therapy Associates

Ryan Physical Therapy Associates will present a free seminar, one in its continuing community health series, on Wednesday May 17, at its office at 1190 Mount Aetna Road in Hagerstown.

The free program, "Banish Your Back Pain," will be presented by Dr. Ali El-Mohandes, M.D., a pain medicine specialist at the Pain Management Center, and Stephen D. Ryan, MPT, president of Ryan Physical Therapy Associates.

The free program will run from 7 p.m. to about 8:30 p.m.

The program will focus in part on tips for reducing and managing back pain and what to do for an acute episode.

Edward Jones

The six local Edward Jones investment representatives will host a free broadcast presentation, "The Shape of Things to Come," at a variety of locations on Tuesday, May 9, at 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The discussion will focus on how industries are shaping themselves to serve the influential baby boomer market segment and how to take advantage of that knowledge. Special guest is Richard Teerlink, former chairman and CEO of Harley-Davidson.

The interactive event will be presented at select Edward Jones branch office nationwide via the firm's private video network.

The Associated Builders and Contractors Inc., Cumberland Valley Chapter, held its second annual General Contractors Showcase on April 13 at Four Points Sheraton in Hagerstown.

About 100 people attended.
