One stabbed, shots fired at W.Va. club

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - One person was stabbed and a window was shot out of a vehicle at Legz Club along W.Va. 9 early Saturday, according to a Berkeley County Sheriff's Department news release.

The release did not include details about who was stabbed. Sheriff's department officers who handled the call were not available for comment Sunday.

Deputies were told by staff at the club that a group of black males wearing dark sunglasses tried to enter the club without proper identification, the release said.

The suspects left in two sport utility vehicles, and as they left the area, shots were fired, the release stated.

Deputies received a call about the disturbance at 2:49 a.m. Legz Club is on Aero Street near the Eastern Regional Jail.


Deputy S.D. Myers and Sgt. Ron Gardner found four spent rounds from what appeared to be a handgun, the release said. Deputies also found a vehicle with a back window shot out, the release said.

One of the sport utility vehicles was found at a 7-Eleven store in Marlowe, W.Va., by a West Virginia State Police trooper and some men were interviewed, the release said.

One of the men was wanted in New York and was arrested and taken to the Eastern Regional Jail, the release said.
