Two die in crash

CLEAR SPRING

A teenager and an 18-year-old died in a three-vehicle crash Friday night on U.S. 40 west of Ashton Road, Maryland State Police said.

A 16-year-old boy was driving west on U.S. 40 about 9 p.m. when he crossed the center line and struck two other vehicles, police said.

The boy first struck a vehicle occupied by a woman. She had minor injuries, police said.

The teen struck a second vehicle, occupied by an 18-year-old man. The 16-year-old and the 18-year-old died from their injuries, police said.

Both were from Washington County.

Their names were not released Friday night.

It was not known what caused the 16-year-old to lose control of the vehicle.
