Girl says she was victim of possible sexual assault

A girl was being treated at Washington County Hospital late Thursday, the victim of an alleged sexual assault, Washington County Sheriff's deputies said.

The girl claimed she was assaulted near Northhaven Trailer Park on Pennsylvania Avenue about 4:30 p.m., police said.

The assailant was described as a white man, 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium build, wearing a red shirt, blue pants and black Nike shoes, police said. The man had brown hair, blue eyes, was clean shaven and wore a black hat with a white baseball logo.

He was last seen crossing a wire fence and running south from Amanda Lane into the trailer park, police said.

The girl was being examined at Washington County Hospital until at least 11:30 p.m. The girl's age was not released, police said.
