MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Starter Will Myers and reliever Sean Adam combined to pitch seven shutout innings as No. 3 Jefferson beat Utica (N.Y.) Proctor 3-0 Friday to win its bracket at the Hawaiian Tropic Classic.

Jefferson's game Friday was only a semifinal, but because the other semifinal winner had to leave the tournament, the Cougars were declared the winners.

Jefferson (17-3) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on doubles by Matt Tiano and Joe Wilt and extended it to 2-0 in the third on Brendan McLaughlin's solo homer. T.J. Mester scored from third base on Westley Jenkins' squeeze bunt in the sixth for the game's final run.

Northern 4, No. 1 Waynesboro 2

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Jamison Walck had two hits for Waynesboro (10-1, 6-1), which dropped its first game of the season to Mid-Penn Colonial rival Northern York.


Chad Halterman had three hits for the Polar Bears (11-2, 6-1).

Waynesboro defeated Northern 13-2 on April 10.

CD East 11, No. 2 Chambersburg 1

COLONIAL PARK, Pa. - Adam Wright, Luke Peffer and Trevor Jackson each had three hits to lead Central Dauphin East to its first win of the season in an upset of Chambersburg.

Wright pitched a complete game for the Panthers (1-11, 1-7), holding the Trojans (9-2, 7-1) to only four four hits.

Williamsport 12, Catoctin 1

THURMONT, Md. - Jason Sutherland threw a six-inning five-hitter and had two hits and two RBI to lead the Wildcats past the Cougars (5-5, 3-4) in the MVAL Antietam.

Chad Bikle had three hits and four RBI, while Tyler Beard had three hits and three RBI for Williamsport (7-5, 5-3). Derek Hadley, A.J. Jamison and Phil Jordan had two hits each.

Broadfording 15, CVCS 5

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Paul Merson pitched a complete game with 19 strikeouts as Broadfording beat Cumberland Valley Christian in the MDCC.

John Kehr hit a three-run homer for Broadfording (3-5, 3-3), while Jake Pryor had three hits and three RBI and Josh Kehr, Andy Lytle and Cody Robinson had two hits each.

Musselman 11-6, St. Albans 2-0

WINCHESTER, Va. - Musselman held St. Albans to six total hits to earn an easy doubleheader sweep in the James Wood Tournament.

In Game 1, Ethan French, Brett Haynes and Justin Combs each had two hits for the Applemen (10-7). French and Haynes had two RBI and Combs had three RBI.

In Game 2, Mark Darlington pitched five scoreless innings, holding St. Albans to only four hits for the victory. Haynes had three RBI and and Combs and Brad Barrett added two hits each for the Applemen.

North Hagerstown 18, Smithsburg 3

SMITHSBURG - Danny Olson had three hits, including a three-run home run, and North Hagerstown pounded out 18 hits to defeat Smithsburg in an MVAL Antietam game.

Marcellus Sumlin, Justin Weaver, Chris Palmer, Cody Nelling and Fred Kreiger had two hits each for the Hubs (8-4, 5-2). Justin Weaver and Mark Dattilio hit home runs.

Josh Conway, Josh Humelsine and Kevin Kocsis had two hits each for the Leopards (4-9, 1-7).

Brunswick 9, South Hagerstown 0

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Jesse Tome pitched a two-hit shutout for Brunswick against MVAL Antietam opponent South Hagerstown (2-9, 2-6).

Andrew Derr had three hits and Tome and Seth Keyser had two hits each for the Railroaders (8-4, 5-2).

Grace 10, Heritage 0

Matt Stine had two doubles and four RBI to lead Grace past Heritage (1-5, 0-4) in a Mason Dixon Christian Conference matchup.

Eric Hess pitched a one-hit shutout to earn the win for the Knights (6-1, 5-0). Hess also had two hits and two RBI.

Goretti 10, Southwest Edgecombe 7

TARBORO, N.C. - J.J. O'Neill and Ryan Lipella each had two hits and two RBI for Goretti in a loss to Southwest Edgecombe in the third-place game of the Tarboro Classic.

Kevin Brashears and Will Murray had two hits apiece for the Gaels (5-7).


Northern York 1, No. 3 Waynesboro 0

DILLSBURG, Pa. - Taryn Ashway allowed one earned run on three hits while striking out 10 for Waynesboro (7-4, 3-4) in a loss to Mid-Penn Colonial leader Northern York.

Jess Rhoads pitched a shutout and equaled Ashway's three hits allowed and 10 strikeouts to earn her 12th win of the season for the Polar Bears (12-0, 7-0).

No. 4 Greencastle 12, Milton Hershey 0

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Rochelle Christman hit two home runs and Brittany Main and Kris Root hit back-to-back home runs as Greencastle powered past Milton Hershey in a Mid-Penn Capital game.

Sarah Signore struck out nine in four hitless innings to earn her seventh win of the season for the Blue Devils (10-2, 8-1).

Boonsboro 2, Clear Spring 0

CLEAR SPRING - Sam Frew pitched a complete-game two-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead Boonsboro past Clear Spring (3-6, 2-5) in an MVAL Antietam game.

Katelyn Patrey doubled in the decisive runs for the Warriors (6-5, 6-2).

South Hagerstown 3, Brunswick 2

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Brittany Hyatt had two hits and scored two runs for South Hagerstown in an MVAL Antietam victory over Brunswick.
