Two Martinsburg residents sentenced in federal court

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Two people were sentenced Monday in U.S. District court for the Northern District of West Virginia.

Susan Goichochea was sentenced to 10 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised probation, acting U.S. Attorney Rita R. Valdrini said in a written release.

Goichochea pleaded guilty Jan. 30 to one count of an indictment charging her with aiding and abetting the distribution of cocaine in 2005.

She was in federal custody.

Dalevon Nathaniel Smith, 28, formerly of Martinsburg, was sentenced to five months in prison and five months of home detention, Valdrini said. Smith lives in Martinas, Ga.

His sentence will be followed by two years of supervised probation, officials said.

Smith pleaded guilty Feb. 1 to one count of an indictment charging him with possession with intent to distribute marijuana in 2004 in Martinsburg.

Smith was in federal custody.
