Borough manager clears air about trash pickup

April 19, 2006

WAYNESBORO, PA. - Addressing the public's questions from a recent town meeting about trash pickup, officials with the Borough of Waynesboro said customers are permitted to have three containers picked up weekly.

Each container is not to exceed 32 gallons of capacity, Borough Manager Lloyd Hamberger said.

Residents who want to have more than three containers picked up need to purchase trash tags for $1 from borough hall, he said.

Trash is not to be placed curbside before 5 p.m. on the day prior to pickup. It should be at the curb by 6 a.m. the day of pickup.

"The collector will not return to collect trash that is not at curbside for collection when they pass your location," Hamberger said.
