Preservation awards nominees sought in Shepherdstown

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - May is National Historic Preservation Month and the Historic Shepherdstown Commission is seeking nominations from the public for its annual Architectural Preservation Awards.

Properties within the Shepherdstown magisterial voting district (zip code 25443) are eligible.

Restoration or rehabilitation of an existing residential, commercial, public or religious structure will be considered. Any preservation project that has been completed within the past five years will be eligible.

Nominations for awards may be made by property owners, or by third parties seeking recognition for preservation projects. Nominations must be submitted by May 12. This year's awards will be presented at the May 27 membership meeting at 10 a.m. at the Entler Hotel. The meeting is open to the public.
