CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The deadline to register to vote in the May 16 primary is Monday, April 17, according to the Franklin County Voter Registration Office.
All mailed in applications for new registrations, changes of address, party or name must be postmarked no later than Monday. County residents with questions about their registration status can call the office at 717-261-3886 before the deadline.
Registration applications can be obtained by going to the office at 157 Lincoln Way East. The application form can also be accessed and printed from the Pennsylvania Department of State's Web site at www.dos.state.pa.us. The form cannot be filled out or submitted online, but must be downloaded, printed, completed and mailed to the Franklin County Voter Registration Office, 157 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Absentee ballot applications for persons who will be out of their municipality, or who are ill or disabled, cane be obtained by calling the office. The last day to apply for an absentee ballot is Tuesday, May 9.
